The original Movers & Shakers walked in the Portland to Coast relay in 2022 to raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease with the Brian Grant Foundation. The 6’9” basketball legend himself walked the final leg, leading our team—wearing the iconic hot pink tee shirts, of course—across the finish line. That year, we experienced the taste of success, fueled by a beautiful combination of struggle, shenanigans, and sleep deprivation. We were empowered, and we were hooked! 

Three of the original walkers are still on the team today: Gigi Van Rysselberghe, who was diagnosed with PD eight years ago; Jenny Wilhelm, a physical therapist who specializes in PD; and Kerry Rae Connolly, a widow who lost her husband Harry to young-onset Parkinson's disease way too young. ​
